CHALLENGES SOLVED

Data Center Facility Challenges We Solve

A data center is only as dependable as its physical foundation. We engineer containment, power distribution, and cable management to protect uptime and lower PUE.

Thermal Hot Spots & PUE Inefficiency

The Problem:Conditioned cold air mixing with hot exhaust air, forcing chillers to run at excessively cold setpoints, wasting up to 40% of facility electricity and causing server thermal throttling.
Our Facility Solution:Installing aisle containment systems, blanking panels, and directed airflow baffling to segregate hot and cold air, reducing cooling costs and lowering facility PUE toward 1.2–1.3.

Unbalanced Three-Phase Electrical Loads

The Problem:Uneven single-phase equipment distribution across 3-phase circuits causing neutral conductor overheating, voltage drops, and unexpected branch circuit breaker trips.
Our Facility Solution:Deploying intelligent 3-phase PDUs with active phase-load telemetry and color-coded alternating branch circuits, ensuring equalized amperage across all three electrical phases.

Cable Sprawl Blocking Server Exhaust

The Problem:Hundreds of unmanaged network and power cables obstructing rear server exhaust grilles, trapping hot air inside chassis and slowing hardware maintenance.
Our Facility Solution:Implementing dedicated deep-rack vertical cable management fingers, zero-U PDU tool-less mounting, and pre-measured velcro dressed cabling for clean unobstructed airflow.

Unmonitored Environmental Risks

The Problem:Undetected AC unit failures, slow water pipe leaks, or humidity drops leading to hardware damage or electrostatic discharge before facility teams are alerted.
Our Facility Solution:Deploying integrated environmental monitoring appliances with automated multi-threshold SMS/email alarms and real-time thermal mapping across all rack rows.

FACILITY SIZING FORMULAS

Power, Cooling & Redundancy Engineering Calculations

We eliminate guesswork from facility infrastructure planning by calculating exact thermal loads, amperage draws, and CFM airflow requirements.

Thermal Heat Dissipation

1 kW IT Load = 3,412 BTU/hr ≈ 0.284 Tons

Every kilowatt of electrical power drawn by servers is converted entirely into heat. A 15kW GPU rack generates ~51,180 BTU/hr of heat, requiring ~4.26 tons of continuous precision air conditioning.

Three-Phase Electrical Amperage

Current (Amps) = Total kW ÷ (1.732 × Voltage × PF)

For a 20kW rack load on 415V 3-phase power with unity power factor, current draw per phase is approximately 27.8 Amps. Sized with a standard 32A or 63A 3-phase IEC 60309 industrial feed.

N+1 vs. 2N Electrical Redundancy

A-Feed + B-Feed Independent Distribution

Dual-corded enterprise servers connect to two independent PDUs powered by separate UPS systems. If one electrical feed fails or undergoes maintenance, the other carries 100% of the load without interruption.

Airflow CFM Sizing

CFM = Heat Load (Watts) × 3.16 ÷ ΔT (°F)

Determines the cubic feet per minute of conditioned air that must pass through the server rack to keep the temperature rise (ΔT) across the server chassis within safe ASHRAE limits (typically 20°F to 25°F rise).

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Data Center Infrastructure Sizing & Supply FAQ

Guidance for data center architects, colocation clients, and facility managers.

Why do high-density server and GPU racks require 1200mm deep enclosures?

Modern dual-socket servers and high-density GPU chassis have deep physical chassis profiles (often 800mm to 900mm deep). A 1200mm deep rack enclosure provides the mandatory front clearance for door curvature and bezel airflow, while leaving 250mm to 350mm of rear space for mounting zero-U intelligent PDUs, power cables, and vertical cable management without obstructing hot exhaust grilles.

What is the difference between Hot Aisle Containment (HAC) and Cold Aisle Containment (CAC)?

Cold Aisle Containment (CAC) encloses the cold aisle supplying conditioned air to the front of the servers, allowing the rest of the room to become a large warm return plenum. Hot Aisle Containment (HAC) isolates the rear hot exhaust air inside a contained chimney or enclosed aisle and directs it straight to the CRAC/CRAH return ducts. Both prevent hot/cold air mixing, with HAC offering higher overall chiller efficiency and comfortable room ambient temperatures for technicians.

How does Patel Galaxify Solutions verify three-phase electrical balance during deployment?

During staging and on-site deployment, our electrical engineers measure current draw across each phase (L1, L2, L3) using intelligent PDU telemetry and calibrated clamp meters. Equipment power supplies are alternated systematically between circuit branches to ensure phase imbalance remains under 5%, preventing neutral conductor heating and protecting circuit breakers.

Does Patel Galaxify Solutions supply complete turnkey data center hardware across India?

Yes. We supply heavy-duty server racks, intelligent PDUs, enterprise UPS systems, aisle containment roofs/doors, and structured fiber/copper cabling from Tier-1 manufacturers (including APC by Schneider Electric, Vertiv, and Eaton). We handle logistics, insured freight, unboxing, on-site mechanical assembly, and leveling across India.

What ongoing maintenance and AMC options are available for data center physical infrastructure?

We offer comprehensive and non-comprehensive Annual Maintenance Contracts (AMC) for physical infrastructure, covering semi-annual UPS battery impedance testing, PDU calibration, thermal camera IR inspections of electrical connections, and 24/7 on-call emergency response for electrical infrastructure.
